1. Our Commitment

At Gillingham Street Angels, we are committed to making our services, activities, and communications accessible to everyone. We believe that all people — regardless of ability, background, or circumstances — should be able to engage fully with our charity.

We will take all reasonable steps to remove barriers to participation and ensure that our support is inclusive and welcoming.

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

3. Our Approach

We aim to:

  • Ensure our venues and facilities are as physically accessible as possible.

  • Make our website accessible in line with recognised standards (e.g., WCAG guidelines).

  • Offer reasonable adjustments to support the needs of service users, volunteers, and staff.

  • Treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility, reviewing and improving our approach regularly.

4. Examples of Accessibility Measures

We may provide support such as:

  • Step-free access where possible or alternative arrangements if venues are not fully accessible.

  • Seating areas for people who may need to rest.

  • Assistance with carrying food or essential items for those unable to do so.

  • Large-print or digital versions of key information upon request.

  • Volunteer training to raise awareness of accessibility and inclusion.
