At Gillingham Street Angels, we know how expensive school uniforms can be — especially with the rising cost of living. That’s why we run a Free School Uniform Bank across all of our charity shops in Medway, helping families access good-quality uniforms without the financial strain.

How the School Uniform Bank Works

Our School Uniform Bank is simple, practical, and community-focused. Families can:

  • Donate outgrown uniforms in good condition.

  • Swap items for the next size up.

  • Collect free school clothing if they are struggling with the cost.

It’s a sustainable way to make sure children across Medway have the uniforms they need while reducing waste and supporting families who might otherwise go without.

Why It Matters

Uniforms are a big expense for families, and children often outgrow them quickly. By providing free school clothing, we:

  • Help reduce the financial pressure on parents and carers.

  • Ensure children have what they need to feel confident at school.

  • Recycle and reuse clothing, preventing unnecessary landfill waste.

How You Can Help

The School Uniform Bank depends on the generosity of our community. You can support it by:

  1. Donating clean, good-quality school uniforms to any of our charity shops.

  2. Spreading the word so families know the service is available.

  3. Volunteering your time to help us sort and distribute uniforms.
